Diane Davis
St. Louis Trauma Therapist

A way forward

Hello! I'm

Diane Davis

I'm here to be a calming presence during a tumultuous time. Call, text, email, or request a free 20-minute consultation. I look forward to meeting you. Yes you. For real.

Connect with your authentic self

Crucible moments are times in our lives when we experience circumstances that forever transform us. A calm therapy partner in a soothing space can help turn a transition into a renewed sense of optimism and hope. Whether you're navigating complex trauma or a life transition, I can help you find yourself within those moments.

As a relational therapist, I use a practical, strengths-based approach to help clients rewrite broken narratives and restore a feeling of balance and wholeness. I primarily use the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) in my practice, while incorporating somatic mindfulness, parts work, and other trauma-informed interventions.

A session with Diane

What will she ask? What should I say?

And how do I know if I really need therapy, anyway?

Approach

NARM Relational Therapy

The NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) addresses the impacts of complex trauma by understanding and healing the ways trauma has disrupted self-regulation, identity, and capacity for connection. In session, we focus on what’s happening in the therapy room right now. Our patterns don’t just show up out there—they show up in real time, in how we relate to ourselves, others, and even to therapy itself. That’s why I often ask questions like:

  • “What’s it like to notice that right now?”

  • “How is it to acknowledge this?”

  • “From this place, what do you find yourself wanting?”

By exploring your patterns—gently, with curiosity—you can learn new ways of relating, not just in therapy, but in the rest of your life. That is what relational therapy is all about.

Mindfulness CBT

Sometimes you don’ t need the kind of deep work required for addressing complex attachment trauma. Sometimes you need someone to just come along with some tweezers and address that thing that’s been bugging you.

Color Stain

Childhood Developmental Trauma

My primary specialty is working with adults—typically parents themselves—who experienced complex trauma. Therapy can help untangle old patterns, build new ways of relating to yourself and others, and create a sense of safety.

Brown Shapes

Men's Issues

Feeling  burned out, disconnected, or tired of feeling like you have to handle everything alone? You don’t have to fit a stereotype to benefit from therapy, you just have to be willing to show up.

Wall

Divorce

Divorce is  a profound transition. We’ll work together to help navigate this transition with clarity and self-compassion. Whether you need support in co-parenting, processing grief, or redefining your sense of self, you don’t have to do it alone.

Creamy Waves

Anxiety

Anxiety isn’t just panic attacks — it can look like overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, irritability, and trouble sleeping. We can build a more flexible, grounded relationship with yourself — where anxiety doesn’t run the show.

Orange Clouds

Religious Trauma

If your experiences with faith and religion have left you feeling shame, fear, or disconnected from yourself, you’re not alone. I provide a secular space that is focused on your healing, not on prescribing what you should believe.

Healing Stones

Therapists

As a NARM therapist, I focus on depth-oriented, experiential work that goes beyond intellectual understanding. If you're looking for a space where you can bring your full self—not just your professional identity—I’d love to work with you.
